Do you offer specialized care for dementia, Parkinson’s, or Alzheimer’s?
Epoch brings over a decade of experience in elder care in India. Dementia care at Epoch is guided by a philosophy-based approach, drawing from several global practices.
The Epoch Dementia Care Program emphasizes both the individual and the clinical condition. It aims to manage dementia symptoms by focusing on residents’ emotional well-being and delivering holistic, person-centred care tailored to each individual's needs, with the goal of ensuring a good quality of life.
Dementia, being a neurological condition with psychiatric symptoms, is often treated with medications such as sedatives and antipsychotics. At Epoch, the approach prioritizes minimal use of medication. Instead, staff are trained extensively in non-pharmacological methods to address behavioural changes.
Epoch is led by Neha Sinha, a dementia specialist, clinical psychologist, and expert in palliative care. Neha has received international recognition for her contributions to developing dementia services in India. She is among the 100 participants globally invited to Dementia Forum X, held under the patronage of Queen Silvia of Sweden, where she has highlighted the unique dementia-related challenges faced by developing countries like India.
Epoch’s care model is rooted in evidence-based global best practices. Its homes are managed by a team of trained professionals, with all staff receiving specialised training in dementia care.

What are the type of activities planned at Epoch?
The activities at Epoch Elder Care are planned based on each person’s abilities, current skill sets, past hobbies, and present symptoms. A common activity calendar is created in each home, which includes all the regular daily activities as well as celebrations and festivities. Personalised activities are also conducted with each resident to provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. For example, residents are engaged in:
What kind of food do you provide?
The food is customised as per the requirements and medical restrictions of the residents. Regular Indian meals are served in all Epoch Elder Care homes, including snacks, fruits, beverages, desserts, food festivals, and special celebrations.
What special meals are billed?
Any particular food, fruit, or juices procured specifically for a resident whether by personal choice or medical prescription outside of the regular menu is billed separately. Epoch Elder Care customises the menu extensively to meet each resident’s specific needs, and this customisation is not billed. However, for example, if a resident requires a specific fruit every day, it is charged extra. The menu includes non-vegetarian food twice a week. If a resident wishes to have it more frequently, it is billed additionally, as it will be specially procured and prepared by the kitchen team for that particular resident.
Are family members allowed to stay overnight with the resident?
This is typically not allowed and is against policy, as it is in the best interest of resident welfare. It can be a cause of concern, as it has been observed that seniors, especially those with dementia, may take time to readjust after a night stay by a family member. Such stays may also disrupt the routine of the resident and affect other residents.
Are there any visiting hours?
Epoch Elder Care follows an open door policy and encourages family members to visit as often as possible. However, it is recommended that family members observe rather than actively participate in routine activities. This allows Epoch caregivers to build their own rapport with the residents.
