Founded: 2013 | Parent Group: Max India Limited (Max Group) | Price Tier: Premium | Cities: Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai
Antara Senior Living is India's most recognized premium senior care brand, and the only one backed by a major listed conglomerate Max India Limited, part of the $7 billion Max Group.
The company was conceptualized in 2010 by Tara Singh Vachani, daughter of Max Group founder Analjit Singh, and formally incorporated in 2013. Its first residential community opened in Dehradun in 2017, designed by New York-based architecture firm Perkins Eastman on 14 acres in the Himalayan foothills.
Antara operates two distinct lines of business: Antara Senior Living (campus-style residential communities for independent retirement living) and Antara Assisted Care Services (Care Homes, Care at Home, and the AGEasy chronic care program).
The Care Homes which are what Zenioro lists opened first in Gurgaon and Noida before expanding into Bengaluru and Chennai in 2024–25, making Antara one of the few providers with meaningful presence across both North and South India.
Antara's approach is rooted in a wellness-first philosophy: senior living should not feel clinical. Its communities combine hospitality-grade design, round-the-clock medical support, nutrition-managed dining, physiotherapy, and structured engagement programs. A multidisciplinary care team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians, and social workers creates personalized care plans before admission and reviews them regularly. Antara has structured protocols for oncology, cardiac, neuro, orthopaedic, and memory care conditions.
In 2025, Antara won the Operator of the Year — Senior Living award at the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards and was shortlisted at the World Ageing Festival in the Residential Aged Care category.

Rajit Mehta, former CEO of Max Healthcare, serves as Managing Director and CEO.
Antara Senior Living refers to the company's campus-style residential communities in Dehradun and Noida, where seniors purchase or lease apartments for independent retirement living. Antara Care Homes are the assisted living facilities smaller in scale, medically staffed, and suited to seniors who need daily care or post-hospital recovery. The Care Homes are what Zenioro lists.
Antara Care Homes offer short-term stays for post-surgery or acute recovery, typically under three months, and long-term assisted living. Within these, the facilities support assisted daily living, memory care, critical care with ICU-level monitoring, physiotherapy, and palliative care. Conditions managed include oncology, cardiac, neuro, orthopaedic, and dementia.
Antara entered South India in 2024–25 with communities in Whitefield and Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru, and ECR Road in Chennai. Further expansion into other South Indian cities has been announced as part of the company's national growth plan.
